I use to have the heart burn and acid reflux really bad also. They were prescribing me prescription drugs to control it.

After cutting out the sugar and high glycemic foods - for about 6 to 12 months - I was fine. But when I cheated on my diet - it was a lot worse.

I can also eat all the spicey food I want - but I don't eat hot peppers like you :-)

After several years on the low carb diet - I might feel stomach acid maybe once a year - which I equate to a virus.

But I do drink at least a gallon of ice tea (unsweet) everyday and probably six or more diet drinks. So I drink more than anyone else I know.

So it may be the combination of cutting out the sugar and increasing fluid intake. - Keith
